Canon T6i (Modded), Canon 300mm f2.8is II + 2.0xTC III, f8, 1/1000sec exposures, 212 exposures stacked, Visual Solar Filter (Baader AstroSolar Film), PixInsight, Lightroom

Please view in shadowbox.

I've been crazy busy with work lately and have not been able to spend any time behind my camera for anything astro or terrestrial for that matter.

A couple of months ago I purchased this folar filter as I have an interest in shooting the sun, but it has gathered dust until today.  I tried it out today in my backyard and snapped a few images.  I'm really not sure what the best approach to solar photography is, so hopefully with more research and practice I can get better details in the surface as well as some solar flares.  I've also only been able to find some limited information on editing images of the sun, so hopefully that too will come to me in time.

Here's my first crack at the sun.  Hopefully... more to follow as time permits.

Really cool Chris! When I first looked at the thumbnail I thought some one had taken a image of an orange and posted it in the wrong gallery! :) Keep at it - I'm guessing we will be in store for even better stuff once you figure it out even more....

Makin' any more of that Maple Tree Bark stuff yet? YUM
