In has been a pretty mild winter in MN, so have to search hard for winter landscapes. I spent three days on Lake Superior North Shore looking for winter landscapes. The only sun I saw was this morning and it lasted for about 5 minutes, the heavy clouds stayed around for the rest of my time on the shore. But did manage to capture this image.

that is stunning. It looks freezing cold but inviting. Would love to see that in person!

John: Really nice light on the FG snow and a fine capture of a fleeting moment. >=))>

It's a cool composition and the f/22 really made the sun burst. Great execution.

This is lovely. Great colors and a nice balance of elements in the scene. The placement of the sun works well as part of the composition.

John - a stellar image, tonal range, 3-D effect, eye-impact well deserving of "Editor's Pick" status.
Equally eye-catching is words applied: "pretty mild winter in MN." An aspect far-reaching, even here in Florida where "spring-has-sprung," a non-winter that followed last years' warmest-ever, bird-wildlife migration appears affected the past four-five years. Even northern Vermonters today noting warm temps, muddy-rutted roads, etc. Our cameras may be capturing far more than our initial intent.
