I took this image last weekend.  I usually shoot this waterfall in the early morning but I captured this one at sunset.  The flare was incredible in my lens.  So I decided to take two shots and blend them.  I shot one image with my thumb over sun to block out the flare and then another for the sunstar itself.  I still had a few dust spots show up in the scene but fortunately they were hidden in the shadows.

Love this! Tack sharp, and the colors are outstanding...adding the thumb was a smart move, I never would have thought of it...
The framing really adds depth. Something that I have recently discovered, just how to take the picture. I could go on and on, its just incredible...
Very Inspiring!

Excellent tranquil scene. The Sunstar is a nice touch. I might suggest burning the tree on the left a bit to reduce the white, eye catching vertical line.

Nice and crisp, esp the f/g, lovely water.
Wish there had been less glare on the water.....Was a Polarizer used?

Keith: I like this very much. I've done the thumb trick myself. Necessity is the mother of invention. I especially like the light on the FG log and the colors it brings out. I think the water looks pretty good and since the rocks under the surface are readily visible I suspect you did use a polarizer. At the angle the sun was a polarizer wouldn't do much for the bright reflection anyway. Superb comp and capture. >=))>

John, I don't think that I used a polarizer because the glare was so intense already.  I usually don't use a polarizer when shooting into the sun.  Thanks.
