In the north section of Lassen Volcanic National Park in northern California, there is a spectacular landscape centred around the dormant volcanic cone there. The views all around a fantastic, this one caught my eye looking into the cone and across to the far side.

I really like the vast look and the few green trees draw my eyes from the bottom to the top. The trees look dwarfed against the background but dominate the scene in my humble opinion.

The two dominant trees really make this work-very pleasing and unusual composition. Very nice mood created-I would be puzzling over what I was looking at if you had not described it-all the better, either way.

Andrew: A place I would love to visit. I do like this as is but actually think a more compelling comp would be a crop much like the thumbnail with only the FG tree and the somewhat uniform BG of the crater wall. I like the light. >=))>
