Here's a "double": wave motif AND appropriate for the trip to Michigan's Upper Peninsula that starts on Saturday :) This was shot during last year's trip on an extremely windy, stormy afternoon. Those Lake Superior waves were really whipping the rocky coast!

Nice shot. I can't wait to be up there. My year is incomplete without a trip or two to Upper Michigan.

Hi Danny, A well designed and pleasing image. You might consider cropping a bit from the bottom so that the edge of the rock comes right out of the lower right-hand corner... Have a great trip.
Best, Artie

"Cold" does not begin to describe the conditions at that spot on that day. I have exactly one halfway decent shot from an entire roll I shot at this spot, but yours is considerably better than "halfway decent," so it's far better than mine.

Nice waves. Did you do anything to make the sky so dark or was it like that nautrally?

A nice sweeping line punctuated by the white wave. Some of the shadow areas look a bit funky in this presentation.

This is definitely nice, but one thing strikes me; There are no bright middle tones. There are nice whites on the waves, but then everything else is mid tone or darker. I think this would pop more if you brought some of the mid tones up and then used the increased contrast range over what now covers the lower interval.

Just my 2 cents...

I really like the tones here - the whitecaps contrast very well with the dull gray rocks. Good juxtapositions in theme and tone.

Great composition here. Really like the dark grey sky and the waves - a chilling day for sure.
