I took this image about a month ago at a reservoir 30 miles north of home. It is cropped square from a vertical. I was so focused on getting a dock in the foreground that I didn't notice the massive cloud blowing by. After all that work, the dock got cut. I got wet about 3 minutes after clicking the shutter.

I like the use of mono to convey the mood. This is a case where I might pump up the tones just a bit to make them stronger. As is though a strong image.

I like this. This is different than your usual. Very nice. The tree in LRC is a good touch.

Hi Jenny. I like this. The B&W helps give a sense of the impending storm and I really like the highlighted water to the left hinting of sunlight in that area.

I like it - the tree in the lower right is great.

Jenny,

This is very nice! I like this image a lot!

I think a further contrast increase of the sky might really make this pop. A nit is that I see a slight halo around the tree in the LRHC. Seems like you lightened it a bit (which is very nice) but I think you could have worked more on the mask/selection to reach full perfection.

Nice use of b&w here...I'd try it with a bit more contrast in the clouds to see which version I like better.

I chuckled when I read your story about the dock as it sounds exactly like something I'd find myself doing!

Although the subject matter is quite different I think this definitely has your style written all over it - a very gentle sort of ethereal feeling. I like the clouds as is and think the simple arrangement of elements balance each other very well. A very enjoyable image.

Having read Ander's comment the halo around the trees is now bugging me too!

cheers,
Eric

Jenny, I really like how the drama of the sky and the simplicity of the foreground work together. Nice work!
