I don't spend enough time photographing scenics. I love doing them but have little time left over when shooting birds and am often humbled by the images I've seen here. I couldn't pass up this scene somewhere in northern California last winter when up there chasng raptors. Not sure where it was. For what it's worth I did make adjustments to lighten the darker areas and it looked fine but I prefered it this way which is with only globaly applied curves etc.

Thanks for looking.

Great shot Jim. I love the cloud formations and that reflection is perfect.

Looks like Mt Shasta, north of Redding to me but its been 16 years since I've been there. An excellent shot!

E.J. I think it may be the back side of Shasta too. I was actually a bit lost at the time having worked some backroads from the Petroglyph Cliffs and this wasn't far from there.

Wonderful landscape. I love the lines of this image and the overall pale tones.

Ribbon of clouds and the reflection are great. Colors really convey a coldness here.

I've looked at this several times and am drawn to it by the etheral quality. This is awesome! My only regret would be not having more pixels like a dig composite pano or 1Ds file. This would still make a pretty huge print from the 1D and have most of the feel.
