Mount Moran and Oxbow Bend - Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming, USA
EOS 1Ds, 100-400 @ 100mm, 1/20, f/8, ISO 100

The dozen or so photographers that assembled at Oxbow Bend had left on this evening after the sun had set but sometimes you get some great color as much as a half hour or more after sunset so I decided to stick around despite being starved and having a 45 minute drive to the nearest food. This was taken probably 40 minutes after sunset - the wait was worth it :)

I agree that the wait was worth it, but how was dinner? Even glue tastes good if you are hungry enough.

A classic view with some great light. I like the hint of detail in Mt. Moran. Very well worth the wait.

E.J., I love the blue/orange contrast betweeen the mountain and the sky. Great exposure also with the reflection just a tad darker. Did you use a GND?

It was not necessary in this situation.

Awesome E.J.! I think taking a protein bar can be as valuable as a GND filter for a landscape photographer. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten neat stuff after all the other photographers leave.

Beautiful scene E.J and the color is amazing. The one line in the clouds is bothering the heck out of me though, upper and lower portions of the image, is that a jet trail?

Definitely not a Jet Trail - that's just the way they were - I liked the streakiness of the clouds.

E.J., I'm glad you waited, and didn't die of starvation so we could see the results. The contrasting colors are incredible.
