I liked the idea of the pano crop on this image so I thought I'd try it.

I decided to click on this one just in case there was a pretty image waiting to be seen... (Sorry, Justin, I couldn't resist.) IAC, I do like it. You might try also more crop from the top to make it a 50-50, or more crop from the bottom to make it 33 1/3-66 2/3 (1/3 water, 2/3 sky)... With digital, it is probably best to make a separate darker exposure for the sun (as it is a bit bright here) and then to combine the two images (even though I am not quite PS proficient enough to do that yet...). Art's suggestion of combining two shots is a good one. I like your presentation as it stands here with its mix of ocean and sky.

I like the sun not being centered as it was with the other image. I wouldn't go for such a severe pano crop though.
