(View from the spit.) Homer, Alaska

I was simply too distracted with all the eagles flying overhead to seriously try and shoot some landscapes on the mountains across the bay. This one didn't come out bad though so I thought I post it and see what people thought.

Handheld Nikon D100, 300mm AFS, ISO 200, Aperture Priority, 1/80 @ F16. Leveled and cropped slightly.

You've got some nice light on the mountains. I might give it a hair more contrast though...

Hey Anthony,

probably my favorite image of yours from the Homer trip this year so far .. just an excellent image. the light, the detail, gradient from shadow to light, and that fog in the upper LHC .. beautiful.

Cheers

Carl

I will definitely want to try some of these in February. I like the light and the photo in general very much.

Very nice. I'd crop the bottom to the bottom of the trees. Nice mountains and light.

Nice. I like the layers of treelines at the bottom, and the light sculpting the mountaintops, fading into the blowing snow. I'd have to see it with more contrast to decide, but I think I like it a lot as is. I do like Dan's crop suggestion, though.

Anthony,
The layers of the FG is just excellent. The light on the snowy mountains is beautiful.

Anthony,

For some reason my eey keps going to the top. So I would crop from the bottom as well, but not sure how much.

I like the inclusion of the sea since it adds scale to the scene!

I like the image, but it is maby a little static. It's very hard to get these kinds of images to really sing IMHO. I haven't managed it. I went for a two day boat trip with this kind of scenery all the way. Got some very similar images, but they're not "WOWish" if you know what I mean.

I think the layers at the bottom are interesting - but really get overpowered by the mountainside.
