Been having a lot of boring sunrises here. This is the best color I could get and this is from the early moring sun on the tips of the clouds.

I'm finding that using ND Grads is much more obvious on LF where if you don't have detail in shadows it looks really bad.

Here I used two filters. A 2 stop hard and a three stop soft to keep the sky and foreground and still get some detail in the rocks.

Love it Dan, did you place the right side fg rock against the frame like that on purpose?

Curious,
robert........

I don't mind the muted colors of this sunrise, I find it kind of interesting. The image works for me.

Another beautiful Muir Beach shot. I remember your shot from almost the same location but with a yellow sky... This is very different but very nice too.

Dan - I don't mind the muted colours. These dark and somewhat moody pallette is a signature of yours. That being said, I can't help but wonder what this would look like significantly brighter.

This composition doesn't quite work for me - I can certainly see what you're after but somehow the far rocks don't seem complementary to the near ones and I really wish the middle one didn't merge with the background.

This is a really tough shot to do with a grad - the background rocks just aren't going to look right and I'm sure the additional detail in LF makes this very apparent - especially in a large presentation. I guess you'll just have to bite the bullet and start doing multiple exposures (a kind of scary thought with LF I know)!

cheers,
Eric

Hey Dan,

A peaceful image. For some reason, even though it is not one of your best, it made me feel like I was standing there, and now I have a real urge to go to the coast with my camera. Thank You.
