This year was one of the most specatcular for the Poppy fields in the Antelope Valle. Tom Mangleson, George Lepp and many well known and not so well known photographers were drawn by the magnet of this magnificant year. I hope it happens again soon. I was lucky, it was storming and we were prepared for rain, but it was dry in the fields.. The storm was over the mountains and it was sunny over the fields giving this effect. I especially liked the gray tumble weeds dotting the area within the poppies and other flowers.

EJ, It is in spring. I will let you know if I find out. You are always welcome to use the guest room if it is not taken. I live in Culver City, which is pretty close (1 1/2 hour drive)

Thanks Steve, definitely let me know! I will find a way to get there even if I have to drive all night on a Friday night and meet you there Saturday morning.

I love this series. You made those bushes work for you while I was busily trying to keep them out of my images. Yours worked better. Well, maybe we'll get more rain this winter...
