Experimenting with some new PS techniques, this one quickly led to me doing it completely different then what i had planned. Your comments are very appreciated!

Thanks much,
robert............

I like this a lot. I love the rich black and white tones. I would like to see a little more of the base of the tree, however. Having it merge into black is a little disturbing to my eye. Just a small nit. I do really like this.

Robert,
This is very interesting. I too would like to see just a little more of the tree, but this is really a cool shot/experiment.

Thanks

Nice, but I'd also like to join the camp for a bit more tonal separation. Could just be my monitor though.

Like the idea and it looks nice, but I agree that a little more tree would be welcomed. The bottom part becomes a little too dark for my taste.

I'm looking on my admittedly dark monitor at work, but with that in mind, this image really doesn't grab me. It's a nice example of technique but IMHO does not match your other recent images for impact. It MIGHT work if the tree were less centered and there were more gradation from black to pale gray.

I've been looking at a lot of your recent work, and much of it I like. This one doesn't work for me, though. Way to try new things though, that's always good.
