Actually shot just outside Zion; Zion was at my back here.
Image
Sky was grey and uninteresting but I was only in Utah for a couple of days, so I had to make do with what I had, and composing without the sky seemed reasonable. I have virtually the same shot with the red rocks a bit higher in the frame but think I prefer this composition. (Guy, I'm jealous of your location.)

Very nice Rich, i like the layers of the land, tells me much about size and scale. You said the sky was grey, it looks like the clouds shadows are dancing around on the landscape which would suggest to me a partly sunny day? Nonetheless, i like it very nice!!

Interesting and very unusual. I wish the red rocks were larger in the frame, though, since they're the main subjects of the scene IMO and I'd like to see more of them.

The layers are very nice. I agree with Danny though on having more prominent rocks.

It's nice to see different images of a place. I agree with Danny that I'd like to see more of the foreground rocks.

I also would like to see more of the colored rocks.
Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap, but memories are priceless.
