This is by far my favourite Canyon in the Southwest. Since I was there two years ago right after September 11, 2001, I always wanted to go back in a less depressed mood and hike into the Canyon. I like the serene atmosphere through the band of green trees at the bottom of the canyon.
This shot was taken on the trail down to the Whitehouse Ruins right before Labour Day this year.

Thanks for looking.[/i]

I like the sky. Overall nice shot except for the branches on the LLC. Those are distracting.

Anne, Really nice, especially with the vivid colors and the vegetation curving through the valley.

Wonderful dramatic scene and GREAT sky! I would also like to see a larger version with less frame for posting purposes. The frame works, but IMHO it's hard to appreciate an image of a big landscape in a tiny picture.

Wow Anne, this is excellent. Even though I live in the SW, I have never vilisted Canyon DeChelly even though I've flown over it in small planes many times.

Lovely image - those clouds look like they've been painted in! Beautiful spot. I agree that the branches lower left of frame are a mild distraction.

Anne, I too would like to see this bigger. But the branches in the LLC don't bother me one bit. I like the soft tones and those perfect puffs of clouds.

I love a shot where shadows and light seem like they are dancing...this is one such image. Nicely done...and welcome :-)
Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap, but memories are priceless.
