Taken at sunrise as the first rays hit the slopes of the Santa Cruz mountains just at the top layer of the thick morning clouds.

Now there's an image after my own heart...love the golden color on the low lying fog...masterful, Anders!
Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap, but memories are priceless.

I love this one Anders!! The blue/yellow contrast is great as is the placement of the trees.

I dig it! A successful and rather atypical foggy scene. I particularly like the variation in tones in the tree areas.

As a trivial nit, I kind of don't want to see the fog petering off before the top edge.

Anders,

Very nice. I love the balance of the yellow fog and the bluish-gray clouds in the background.

I am still trying to figure out where you were standing for this image. I photograph qwuite a bit at Windy Hill and from teh loos of the rays in the shdows you had to have been facing south east, which means you had to be up on Windy Hill itself. Am I correct?

Thanks for the comments!

Youssef, I was standing in the grass just north of the grove of large cypress trees that have been planted (obviously a long time ago) just a bit down from the top of Windy Hill. I basically pointed the camera straight down hill at the intersection of the clouds and the hill.

This was taken just as the sun rose above the clouds over Mount Hamilton on the other side of the bay. This was basically a totally cloudy morning, with a thick layer of clouds all over. I knew Windy Hill would be my best chance to get above the clouds at all that morning. Luckily the plan worked perfectly.

The only hammering I'm doing is on my head for not getting a fog shot like this. This is georgeous.

Anders,
I love images that portray weather conditions like snow and fog. The fog combined with that like is striking. Nice shot.
