Holy, moly...look at that light! How about a selective contrast increase of the darker areas...I think the mist causes the image to look a bit low in contrast. If you selectively increase the contrast in the darker areas, you can still get the dramatic effect of the light without causing additional highlight blowout and give the image a bit more punch...just a thought...
Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap, but memories are priceless.

Ken,

I really like the light rays in the fog here. I strongly agree with Mahesh about the contrast though. Try just moving the dark point in levels up towards the lowest parts of the histogram and it really pops. More work could probably enhance it further! Nice shot!

More contrast will definitely make it pop...I rather like the soft look too, though, which gives it a completely different mood. I think I'll pull it into PS and see what I come up with, just for fun...

OK, I played with it for a few minutes and here's what I got. I've reset the black/white points, adjusted midtones, and saturated yellows after selecting them individually.

Very cool! I like both versions but prefer the slightly higher contrast repost.

I like Danny's repost (not bad for less than 15 min). I believe it adds some punch while still maintaining the soft early morning feeling.

I really like this one for its unusual lighting, and I think the adjustments in the report improve it further.

It's kind of strange in that you have two (three?) very strongly competing elements, yet I really like this because it still somehow works.

The version with more contrast gets more attention from me because it reads more clearly as fog. 8) That's a very nice effect, too!
