I shot this Heron peaking out of the grass while I was sitting in my blind waiting for those baby mergansers that would NEVER come close enough. I really didn't like the shot so I "played" with it in PS. I am not too sure how I did it or if I like it.

Comments appreciated!

Canon 20D 500/4 w/1.4 TC and a lot of PS guess work.

I like the contrasty effect with the bird and grasses. I'd get rid of at least some of the foreground, myself.

Very nice! I would straighten the horizon. It's only a tad off. ;) It's a great effect!

Chris, I'm not sure what you are worried about to be honest M8t. Looks fine this end to be honest. The lighting is great and I like the leaning of the grass as goes to the right at the top.

All the best Chris, what exactly are you not too sure about ???. Just curious as always :D

I'd take off half the water, print it and stick it on a wall if I were you :D
