Bluejay in a snowstorm

D500, 500nn, 1/1000,F/5.6,ISO 4000

We had a second snowstorm in the last few weeks- about two feet each time! Happy spring in Vermont. It was actually quite beautiful...just a bit late in the season.

This Blue Jay didn't seem to mind, especially as we had thrown corn under the feeders , which the Jays enjoy.

I used some sort of Topaz something-or-other and a lot of tweaks.

I don't envy you the snow Cindy! We have had none this winter, just rain, rain and more rain. This is lovely and captures the winter mood beautifully, especially with the soft colours, snow on the perch and the beak.

Our bluejays fill themselves with sunflower seeds....stealing them from the poor little chickadees

Thanks, John. Ours do too. But even worse are the gazillion Pine Siskins we have here, keeping just about all the small birds away. Don't know why this flock has stayed so long....

Our chickadees DO manage the "in-between" times.

We scatter cracked corn on the ground for the Blue Jays- it keeps them busy.

Between the bluejays and the squirrels, our poor little chickadees just seem to get leftovers. Now I know why they are so small....lol
