Waiting for new shots dedicated to my favorite season,
I "open the dances" with some shots from past years.

Orton technique. My favorite, two shots taken in the camera:
the general rule (but it can be varied according to the scene)
is one shot completely out of focus and at maximum aperture, overexposed by one stop
and one shot perfectly at focus with maximum depth of field, overexposed by two stops
and then merged together in PSD with the "multiply" color method.

First shot in focus:
Canon 5D
Canon Ef 17-40mm f/4L USM
ISO 50 - 2s - f/11 - 33 mm - tripod
No compensation exposure

Second shot out of focus:
Canon 5D
Canon Ef 17-40mm f/4L USM
ISO 50 - 0.6 s - f/4 - 33 mm - tripod
No compensation exposure

Adjustments and graduated ND filter applied in post production after overlay.
I hope you enjoy this technique  .

This is a beauty, Mary. With you on waiting for new shots on my favourite season also. The play of light and the softness from Orton technique creates a magical image. Bravo!

A click on your link to the larger size shows the beautiful detail in this autumn scene.  I love the composition, different textures and colours, and the light filtering down through the trees is absolutely magical!  Welcome back - and welcome to Autumn, Mary!  :)

I love the play of light in this, Mary- and the warm tones. A wonderful autumn mood with a little air of mystery-a rather secret-looking place. Welcome back!
