I am trying to turn a photo into a simple sketch.  This is an experiment - and I really can't remember all I did....... but it was a lot of this and that with PS and Topaz - and  still a way to go!

Quite a lot of fun - and will keep trying! :)

Strikes me as a darn good effort Carol. Works pretty well. Particularly the details in the Swan and the soft , subtle "pencilling". Lovely treatment and a treat for us to see one of your creations.

You are too kind.  :)   It does look slightly better with a click and the dark frame (I think).

Nice work Carol - I like the "pencilling" as well.
Keep at it. ;)

Well, I'm not sure how much further you'd have to go, Carol. Pretty sweet "as is".  A lovely feel to this -I like your choice of color for the background and the pretty way you've enhanced the swan. If I were to suggest minor tweaks, it might be to make the swan just a wee bit larger in the frame, and perhaps tone down the texture a smidge. Minor details, and really a matter of personal taste! Actually-looks great  with a click-might have to take back my suggestions! Looking forward to more!

+1. When I first saw this several days ago I was going to make much the same comments as Cynthia's but then I had to be out of town, for a couple of days, at the last minute.  My thinking still is the same, very nice overall with a +1 for Cynthia's suggestions (in my case, toning down the texture a bit). The "penciling" looks great.

I would love to do "this and that" if the final result is this good. This is pretty cool.
