Have been musing over the last couple of days on what to show next.  Something that I enjoy and have some pleasure in showing or something that may push a few boundaries and not be so comfortable and conform to normal guidelines.

Went with the latter.

Have been working on some images that I would be personally happy to print large.  Both sets fit that category... Am more than happy for feedback.

Please feel free to view uncompressed.  This image, lies in the "uncomfortable group"..

There is no reason to be "uncomfortable" with this image! It's a beauty. I like that the detail in the owl has been maintained while the remainder of the image takes on the painterly feel of the treated surroundings. I feel this would be a great image to print large, Dave! Beautifully done!

I disagree with your "uncomfortable" designation for this image. This is actually my favorite of your various Topaz or other App images. Love the natural eyes and the eye contact. As I look at this image I have the sense I don't want to walk past HIS boundary and into that forest.

Not sure what is uncomfortable here-this is a terrific piece-one of your very best! Love the intensity of the owl's gaze, and the mysterious setting-It would make a wonderful storybook illustration. The background is so well done. I feel you have integrated the elements of this one beautifully-it must have been great fun! Bravo!!

Thank you Warren and Ron so much.

Really appreciated as this is where I am feeling I want to go. I've always felt it a privilege to witness wildlife in the UK and there is a bit of magic to get a glimpse in their world. (very different from being in Africa where there is so much going on it feels as if nature is throwing itself at you)..

Means a great deal. Thanks.

Definitely up there with my favourites of your artworks, Dave! The High rez version shows just what a gorgeous large print this would make to frame and hang on a wall for everyone to enjoy. A masterpiece!!!

Why inside the uncomfortable group?
It is a wonderful image to say the least.
I like how you decided to elaborate it and how you rightly called it, it brings to mind the illustrations of enchanted storybooks.
