My husband and I saw this little guy when out for a walk at night with headlamps.  Ran back to the house to get cameras! We were lucky to get a few pictures-it was quite unafraid of us. The eye was  pretty much glare, so I re-invented it, and used Topaz for some painting. Poor little guy needs some winter camouflage. We are getting the white stuff today. :)

Looks like he is doing his best Polar Bear imitation! Nicely done.

Unique photo with the winter coat amidst the autumn foliage, and taken in nocturnal setting - very cool! Gotta love them mustelids.

Beautiful night shot, I love the little boy and his undergrowth surrounding,
it brings to mind the characters of Beatrix Potter.

My favorite seasons are autumn and winter,
here almost never snow ...
where I live when two centimeters of snow fall, everything goes into crisis ...
but I love snow!

Cindy, congrats. on the difficult-to-obtain ermine image. Love the pose with the neck extended upward. And I am so envious of your beautiful snowfall. Your studio looks wonderful in the snow! Well done! :)

Lucky you to even see one - and to get the photo!  From the picture of your snowfall I would say the little ermine won't be so conspicuous any more!!  :)

Thanks for your thoughts all- not the greatest picture, but I just had to show the wee fellow off. Now I wonder how he/she is doing under 2 feet of snow!

Ha! Took me 1/2hour to uncover my car. Ernie the Ermine might leave his footprints if he doesn't sink! (Or maybe he tunnels under....). Thought I saw some wee pawprints near my studio...maybe he (or she) can weasel under there. 8)
