A Spurge plant growing over an old log in my front yard.
Samsung s8, 4.25mm, f1.7@1/238 sec. Frame and mat added in Picasa, BG removed and replaced with black in phone.

I like the way this is placed in the frame-makes a nice composition. The wood looks a bit like some sort of curled up animal. The pland adds a lot of interest-the old dried up wood vs the fresh plant.

A great concept with the splurge growing on the rugged wood, particularly since they are composed so nicely. The black background isolates your subject well and works beautifully with the frame. Very creative work, Joe!

I love the shape and texture of the old wood, and the little flower gives the hint of new life. I can't quite get my head round the starkness of the black background outlined so sharply against the wood? if the outline was softened a little, I think it would marry the two much better. Just my two cents worth, Joe.
