Still playing.  Have a couple of programs / algorithms but this time, reserved the order.  It's nice just to play and experiment.  (usual process of various layers, and adjustments with differing levels of eraser tool used to emphasise or haze).

Hope all safe.  Please feel free to view uncompressed.

Thank you for looking.

Without question, this is your best yet using the new technique (IMO), Dave. The head of the lion is amazing. The lines through the face and mane provide wonderful realism. And I love how you blurred the background. Of course, catching the tongue out is the perfect finishing touch. Brilliant. :D

This would definitely be a perfect illustration for The Chronicles of Narnia! Aslan personified, Dave.

Love that tongue-yes- would make a great illustration. Unlike Ron, however, I am not quite as excited about the lines in the face. I do love the expression and background, and overall mood this conveys-such character!
