Bit of an experiment.  The experience stalking in the highlands, west Scotland was magic.   Not shown these.  taken a few years back, but have played with Topaz, part Black and white and would like to share your views.

Please feel free to view uncompressed.  Thank you for viewing

A great image (and composition) to start with, Dave, as you have captured all three stags looking directly at you, and the treatment you applied with Topaz provides a beautiful painterly appearance to the deer and to the mountain landscape. The part B&W and part color approach works for me. An exceptionally creative and beautiful piece of art. :)

I like what you're doing here and the detail on the stags is beautiful.  Its a great idea, and I think you could do various animal scenes along these mono/duo toned lines.  I don't feel this is quite finished yet........ but you have really opened pandora's box!  As an alternative, I scrolled down and thought a pano presentation of this stag line up worked well too.   I can see you burning the midnight oil once you've started on one of these!  Well done for experimenting with conventional themes, Dave!   8)

Wonderful and effective idea Dave. The deer present as quite ghostly against the colored background. Really quite creative and adventuresome. A few thoughts about this one-it seems a little odd that just the rump of the middle deer is still colored while the rest are not. I like the clarity of the left-sided deer. The other two are a bit more obscure around their heads, but perhaps that's OK. Just a thought. Such subjective stuff- I am not sure I dislike these elements, but they stand out for me.

Carry on! This is a great new adventure!!

thank you all for the feedback. Appreciated. Yup, unfinished. Had a sort of nagging feeling which I couldn't put my finger on so your thoughts have helped.
