This is an older image, which I reprocessed with current technology, and entered in the North American Nature Photography Association’s 2020 Photography "Showcase" Competition. A total of 3,868 images were entered by 421 photographers. The top 250 winning images were selected for the Showcase. The image was entered in the “Altered Reality” category. Recently, NANPA notified me that the image was selected for the Showcase and placed in the Top 100 winning images, along with another Altered Reality image I entered. :D  This Sandhill Crane was photographed at Bosque del Apache, NWR and processed in Photoshop CC and Topaz Impression II. Nikon DX, Nikkor 500mm +1.4X, f/8 @ 1/1250, ISO 320, Gitzo Tripod, Wimberley Head II. Please click on the image to view it full size. Thanks.

You just get better and better Ron. Congratulations. Wow! This image is surreal and so deserving. My words do not effectively describe the appreciation this image deserves. top, top drawer Ron.

Big congratulations, Ron! A well-deserved award. I love the dynamic sense of motion, not just in the crane, but all the activity in the background as well-that is- how the grasses are emphasized so that they echo the landing bird's energy. The colors are also great as is the light on the crane. Really a remarkable piece of art!

I am sitting here with a big smile on my face, Ron.  I don't know which gives me more pleasure, viewing this absolutely gorgeous artwork, or reading that you are getting some of the recognition that you so richly deserve.   Congratulations on your success with this wonderfully ethereal painting, I am sure that there will be many more, both with your art and your amazing photography.  :)

Words fail me for this beautiful piece art, Ron,

‘Fantastic’ and ’Spectacular’ just do not capture the moment adequately, of conveying the emotion of observing a big bird working hard for a graceful landing.
Congratulations on the well deserved award!

This is excellent...Big congrats on this, I can certainly see why it was selected.
The centered eye comp is really nice, draws you right in and the sense of motion keeps you there...
Congratulations again for this fine artwork!
