The phoenix really exists!

The phoenix has been portrayed in medieval art with a halo, to show the bird's relationship to the sun. And I see traits of that concept in your image. With the dark background, the lighting on the bird is very dramatic, and plays right into the myth that the bird can be reborn. It is obvious, therefore, that you put great thought and research into the creation of this image. I'm pleased you added some texture to the water in the lower part of the frame. A very minor suggestion would be to tone down the brightest highlights on the body of the bird. A lovely and very creative image.

What a wonderful idea- an unusual, haunting image, well presented-the glow is very effective. The upward motion also helps to create a "phoenix rising" effect. Very creative!
