I photographed this Snow Goose at Bosque del Apache NWR and painted it using Topaz Impression II. I panned the camera in low light. The actual tones in the evening sky were enhanced to create the background. The image really needs to be viewed full size so please click on it to view in shadowbox. Thank you.

This is a different and interesting approach, Ron. Very like a pastel painting-the lines create a sense of motion. Lovely colors in the background. Perhaps there is a hint of rice paper in the texture as well. Very artistic!

Lovely pastel sketch feel to this one, Ron and with the visible directional strokes I get the impression of a deconstructed anatomical artwork where the artist took infinite care to portray the accurate movement of the goose in flight. A fascinating and thought provoking creation!

Thanks everyone for your comments — they are greatly appreciated. Carol, you nailed it — the “hint” of anatomical sketch, remaining below the painting, was the look I was after. 8)

Nicely don Ron! I like the crisscross lines almost like pieces of straw, very different look.
