A very cooperative bobcat at Bosque. He spent a lot of time posing for me. Original image taken with a Sony DSC-H50, processed in a Samsung Galaxy s8 with an app called MIX and further adjusted in Windows and LR. All C&C welcome. Please click on image. Thanks.

Looks like you are having a great time with this app and all the permutations. This one works quite well, though I would be tempted to make the eyes look a bit more natural, even given the overall texture. The bobcat pose it excellent- I wonder if you might tweak the color a bit though. The reds and yellows are a little strong. Just my taste-others might disagree! Overall, I am enjoying your adventures with this medium/applications. Very creative.

I absolutely agree with you, Cindy. I tried adjusting the colors several times and reposted several different iterations of it to see if I could get it better before I got any replies. I am still not satisfied with it, but the others were even stronger on the red side. Decreasing saturation changed the overall feel and I was not successful at trying to reduce the individual colors. When I posted last night, I thought it looked decent. When I looked at it this morning, the reds were way too prominent, so I reduced them some. It’s just my lack of PP skills and my changing color vision. I appreciate your input and comments.

Hi Joe-I don't use lightroom -can't even figure out how to tweak something there, but if it's similar to photoshop, you should be able to use some sliders to change the colors. It can be really frustrating! As for changing color vision- that is something I wonder about too- who knows what different people see at different times in their lives.

Your Bighorn Sheep worked well, color-wise, at least to my (biased) eyes. :)

The sliders for the individual colors don’t seem to change anything, for some odd reason. I tried the yellows, maroons, etc., and none of them did much, even when saturation was reduced or increased a lot. I have been trying to replicate the tones of the Bighorn Sheep with little success on several other images, including the eagle. I all comes down to my lack of knowledge of using LR and other PP tools. It could be the way the app changes the image, as well. I’ll keep trying to get it right and will post it in a reply if I think I have improved it.
Thanks for your suggestions.

Joe, I think you are over thinking this...it isn't natural so it shouldn't have to reflect it. By the way, it is nice to see a mature Bobcat, 90% of the shots seen are immature cats with hardly any ear tufts.

I find the background texture too overpowering, Joe, but the effect on the bobcat fur is much better for my personal taste (so subjective, isn't it!) and the cat is a beauty and posed so perfectly.  Is it possible to just soften the effect on the background without altering the cat? because that looks really nice when clicked on for the full view.  I am sure that others looking at the picture will all have a different opinion!  :)

The original image would be very welcome in Wildlife.  8)

The bobcat is wonderful, Joe. Perfect pose. The texture is a little heavy in the background, and to a lesser extent in the bobcat. The reds and yellows appear a bit oversaturated. But a great effort with a wonderful subject. :)

Thanks for all the input. I am getting there now. I figured out how to reduce the effect and keep it close to the proper colors. It's a matter of getting used to the app sliders that I had forgotten to go back to before export. Here's another version:

That makes such a difference, Joe!  Going a touch softer has really made this beautiful cat sing - for my tastes anyway.  :D   That's the fun of these filters, so many subtle variations can really alter the final result.

Love the first of the two revisions, Joe. You did it!  Now the Bobcat has a beautiful expression-the eyes are captivating--color is great, and I like the way you softened the texture. Actually-I like them both- they have slightly different impacts, the second one being a bit more dynamic.
