What a sweet close-up of a dear little red-breasted nuthatch-one of my favorite birds. You did very well to retain clarity in the eye and beak, while using some "paint" to give this additional character. The light is just right. Very nicely done!

The painting technique you selected works great with the little Nuthatch, particularly on the plumage. I like that you left the eye natural, as it is the first part of the image I see, and it sort of grounds the image for me. Very nicely done!

Lovely texture on the plumage, Joe and perfectly done with the clear eye!

Really creative - the filter makes the feathers look like fur - very appealing!
Excellent image!
