Hah! Nope, no one is right yet!
Although Carole's thought of a scarf is what gave me the idea... so that is the closest yet.

A Rat.......or a Bat.......
or a Cat in a Hat.........

From Arabian Nights, a low flying Mat.....
or maybe it might be a pleated Cravat....

A bat it is!  (or supposed to be..)
A story with this one...my little grandson wanted me to make invitations for his halloween party. I had no ideas..
We went out to dinner that evening, and there was a very elegant lady at the next table with a beautiful scarf. When it fell to the floor, she picked it up and very gracefully flung it back around her neck. We have bats in the evenings (which I love) and I thought of the bats flying gracefully through the trees. Laid out a scarf when we got home, photographed it, played with colours and sketches and came up with this.
Enjoy! and have a safe and not-too-calorie-laden Halloween!
Sandy

Lovely story! and I love bats.  :D

I knew it represented a bat but I was not quite sure what your original item was.

Someone with your imagination and artistic flair will be a great hit with children Sandy!

I shall be glad when Halloween is over this year........ for the first time ever, some objectionable individual came along our road at around 1.a.m. (who in their right mind would do that!)  and threw eggs through open bedroom windows.  I like to sleep with fresh air.... enough said!

Sometimes! They weren't too thrilled when I had to give them chemo or a bone marrow aspiration.. but I WAS able to distract most of them with stories, balloons, and scarf magic tricks. (Former pediatric oncology RN, here)

Yes, well,  there are times when all reserves are called for and the big C takes no prisoners.  Its heart breaking enough for adults to cope with but so cruel when tearing children apart - the medical professionals can make such a difference during such troubled times.  Well done you!
