this proceratophrys frog was found near my house.

sent to a specialist who could not identify the species as there are none of these described in the region where i have a house in the mountains.
to identify the hepetologist asked if i had the species with me , and that he could analyze in the lab with genetic tests...:-)

i answered that this bluby guy was already somewhere in the woods :-):-)

d810/micro nikkor 200/flash/fractalius suite / unobtanium suite / cs6 and viveza adjustments.

currently in press with metacrilate.

hope you enjoy this funny guy.
please click image for darker box ...
regards
andre.

Andre, nice to see you, and what a great and unusual find. I really like the textures in the frog, because, to me, it makes it appear almost three dimensional. Perhaps the background adds to this effect. I'm not certain. But whatever you have done definitely adds a sense depth and dimension. Beautiful presentation and a fine image, Andre! :D

Is this what he looks like? The name is similar and the region, as best I can tell is close. I think it may be a toad from the words "sapo de chifre"???

Well done, Andre- love the textures and that big luminous eye. The background is very complementary as well. This picture really made me smile! Glad this guy is happily in the woods somewhere.
By the way, if you use "post a reply", instead of "quick reply" you should be able to add a picture.

for joe:
this is below the original chubby guy :-)
i positioned him over a stone for makingthe shot and let it go.....
one of the main features of this species are the bony spiky-like structures on the skin.... quite primitive feel ;-)
regards.

You've turned a chubby toad with the typical warts all over his skin into a beautiful jewel!  :D
