Hawk portrait

A perched hawk on a gray day was pretty monochrome to start with. Converted to B&W with heavy sepia blending.

I like this! Nice morph into a lovely sepia tonality that brings out the contrasts and clarity in the feathers and eye. A conversion like this perhaps lets you see more detail without the more confusing factor of stronger color differences, even if the bird was not very colorful to begin with. Of course your very sharp picture helps in the first place. :) There is almost a woodcut look to this- very well done!

The sepia tone works well here, and adds definition.

A good-looking portrait, Stan! I like the detail you captured in this hawk, and the definition created by the subtle shadows on the body. Beautiful job with the sepia blending!
