let me share with the guys from this forum another tecnique, that is, aplying texture and combining/masking through layers in cs6 for preserving part of  the original image ( eye in this case )

hope you guys enjoy it!

this is a 10x mag ratio portrait of a green lacewing, in studio , done with the aclaimed mitutoyo apo plan 10x microscope lens. ( bellows pb6 ).

notice that this image has minimal crop, with huge tiiff final archive.
160 stack images.
fractalius suite tweaks , viveza enhancements, cs6.

please ckick image for bigger view.

regards
andre.

Way out there Andre! Thanks for sharing your technique and unique ideas. It's just great to experiment and think out of the box-I really respect your work. This one is a little spooky for my taste, but technique is impressive!

I, too, respect and appreciate your work, Andre, and this piece demonstrates why: 10X life size magnification, 160 stacked images - the macro work alone is mind blowing! And the resulting image was well worth the effort, because this is an amazing pop art abstract. Love that you allowed the eye to be represented as it appears naturally at 10X life size, and used your texture on the remainder of the Lacewing. Great job, Andre. Bravo!

Crazy concept and so expertly presented!

The explosion of colour is gorgeous, and that humongous eye is really quite disconcerting........ if this was on my wall, I would feel that some super power was watching me!!  - I would have to turn the picture to face the wall so it couldn't see me.

A very thought provoking creation - and that is what true ART is all about.  Bravo!
