Incoming Wood Stork

While graceful in flight, wood storks  are amazingly  IN-adept and awkward at landing - they usually just crash into the tree or branch and try to hold on. 
I've seen them knock others off a limb, crash into babies, and knock half of their nest into the water. Quite humourous to watch!

What fun, Sandy-your description is hilarious! The way the legs are splayed out kind of says it all. Love this kind of sketchy treatment (in the best sense of the word ;) ) Perhaps just a touch more contrast on this one?

I loved the original image of this Wood Stork you posted in the Birds Gallery. Few images stay in my mind, but that one does. So, while this sketch is charming and humorous, it honestly doesn't have the same impact on me as the original. That said, it is striking! The simplicity of the image and color palette allow it to fit nicely in your portfolio of sketches.
