Super work, Dave! I'm not sure which treatment you used on this, but it appears similar to Topaz Simplify. Love the multiple tones in the B&W conversion, and the obvious simplification in the textures on the buffalo. Great pose and symmetry. A very handsome creation - excellent job!!! 8)

Oh Yes! Having stared into the gaze of many a Cape Buffalo, both singularly and en masse, I can definitely say you have absolutely nailed this one Dave! Your original image has captured the character of these imposing creatures perfectly, while the b/w conversion and artistic brushwork has completed the deal. Superb. Love it!

Stunning photo to begin with-lovely expression, and beautiful conversion to B&W. I like the "paint job", especially from a distance where the strokes blend together a bit.( Up close the jagged edges aren't as pleasing to my eye-I'd be tempted to blend them a bit.-I think we've had this discussion before...) ;). Viewing on a screen at 6--8 inches away just doesn't work as well as a print in a gallery or on a wall. Having said that, I really like this very much-I feel like the Buffalo is really looking right at me in a very engaging way. Top notch!

David, great the way your creative treatment here further accentuates the ragged textures of the hanging fur and that soulful yet provocative stare.  Especially love that both the framing and content are so perfectly balanced and symmetrical - very nicely presented!
