Topaz Impression, NIK, PS CC. This is another in a series that I printed first on canvas, then hand painted on top with acrylics and clear coats to look like an oil painting (minus the copyright shown here). Hard to see here as a small jpeg, but lots and lots of texture in the final result!  A few hours! :)

Mark! This is gorgeous!! Over the top! Beautiful brushstrokes, wonderful mood, great contrasts and an engaging mood-I really feel the oncoming presence of the moose, looking right at me. Need I say more? :). I will I love it. A perfect combination of "real" painting and photograph.

Thanks for sharing. Got more of these? Should be in a show.

What a striking moose image, Mark. I see beautiful texture throughout this image, from the paintbrush strokes to the pattern of the canvas. My favorite feature - as it is with many of your images - is the way you handled the snow! From the dusting on the foreground evergreen, to the touches on the head and antlers, to the background blurs, you have masterfully used snow to drive home the wonderful feeling of "winter" in this image. And the pose of the moose peeking through the evergreens could not be better. Such a handsome image - a true work of art. :)

Thanks all - much appreciated! Cynthia - yup, there are several more (all moose themed), maybe 15 ish. I also am doing landscapes of our North Woods using basically the same technique. I'll post a few more in the future. Thanks again!  :)

Mesmerizing! Perfect degree of texturing, starting with an excellent image.
Well-deserving of the EP!

Mark, I really like this a beautiful painting to be sure. I always like it when the eyes are preserved. Going to chek your website. Hopefully I can see a larger image. Thanks for sharing with us.
