A very different take from my previous heron post. This was processed with Topaz pastel and a lot of tweaks using various brushes and nuances.

Taken with a Nikon D500 + 300+1.4 TC, 1/2000, f/9,ISO 1250

This is beautiful. Print it on canvas and put it on your wall!

Cindy, without question this is my favorite of your images. The composition is excellent with the diagonal line of the tree leading down to the heron. The grasses around the heron provide a wonderful feel of natural habitat. I realize you used Topaz Pastel and the treatment is lovely, but to me it appears like a fine watercolor. This is a wonderful piece of art you have created, congratulations. I absolutely love it!!!   :D

Gee thanks Ron!  I think the pastel app was really just a launching pad- I did other stuff to it-maybe that's why it looks more like a watercolor.

Oh, I love this!  Composition, content and soft colours all come together so beautifully and the end result is so peaceful and calming to view.  The different tones highlighted in the foreground reeds and grasses are so fine and give a delicate feel of movement in sweet contrast to the stationary pose of the heron.

A  lovely nature study that would grace any room.  Well done Cindy! 8)

Gorgeous! Looks like a watercolour painting. Love the lines, textures, and blurs. The darker part lends a very dramatic moodiness.
Excellent work!
