What a charming picture- this works so well in B&W. The texture accents the feathers nicely without obscuring the eye. I love the expression! Contrasts are right on the money too. Well done!

A big welcome to NSN and P&DA!

Welcome. A very cool pelican portrait. Several positive things stand out. First, the open bill adds wonderful character to the pelican. Second, the pelican is detailed and has excellent eye contact. Third, the vignetting around the edges and light tones behind the pelican really make it "pop." And finally, I like the attractive background texture you selected. Nice work.
