This is a very cleverly executed, and beautiful image. I like its symmetry, and the composition using the negative space above and below the drop. Coloring the water drop blue was an excellent choice for the star of the show, and I love how you captured the drop at the precise moment it appears to be entering the water. The thickening of the water adds a nice touch to the form of the ripples. I don't know if the thickener created the shadow below the drop, but I definitely think that shadow contributes to the success of the image. Thank you for listing the various steps you followed to accomplish this amazing result. This simple image is a great example of the concept that less is more. Great job, Leigh!

Wow- that's a wonderfully creative set-up with great results. It gives a feeling of serenity combined with a bit of mystery (if you hadn't told what you did). So glad you DID describe it though- very interesting process. The blue marble-like droplet is quite magical! I think Ron said all the rest that I would agree with. Thanks for posting.

You need to get bored more often Leigh. You could play with this technique over and over and create amazing variations to delight the eye! Beautifully done.
