I used a simple Orton Effect to produce the soft glow ,which fit this image.

Beautiful colors, James- it must have been quite a sight even pre-Orton! The subtle colors in the foreground are also lovely, though I can't quite fathom what it is. Snow, perhaps? Not that it matters- this is quite abstract and stands well enough as such. I like the very dark mountains/treeline separating the two elements. This works for me with just the mountains and sky alone too. Altogether an intriguing picture, nicely done.

Striking color -- I especially like the soft foreground.
