Egret  Stalking its food.

Midday capture, with overcast weather and in shade of overhanging trees.

Nikon D610, Nikon lens 200-400 VR F4,  @ 250mm VR on active, small crop,
1/1250, F7.1, iso 1000,  Hand Held -.3 Meter compensation.

Gorgeous whites. I wish for just a trifle more shadow detail -- maybe just a touch more shadow contrast would do the trick. A beauty!

Ditto Gary. Wonderful mood and lovely pose. I like the intense concentration of these birds that is shown so well here. The darks do show up a bit better in the full sized version. I'd be tempted to use something like shadow/highlight function in some application if you have it, just to see what you can bring out without losing that nice mysterious mood.

This is quite a statement. After reading the prior posts I can see where the shadow contrast can help.

Beautiful composition, Bill. I like the placement of the egret on the thirds looking down through the remainder of the frame.
