I have been contacted by a publishing company in New York that wants to use one of my images in a textbook on evolution. They plan to produce 99,000 copies with my image being 1/4 page in size. They are asking for a quote before they order. I would appreciate  hearing a standard price or ball park figure for such use.
Thanks
Bob

Hi,

Go to one of the following sites to get an idea of what to charge.

http://photographersindex.com/stockprice.htm

http://www.pacificstock.com/pricecalc.asp?pricecalc=1&dMt01=1000Amaon0

https://nppa.org/calculator - Cost of doing business calculator

Keep in mind that book publishers often will pay a little more, but in return they want use of the image for many years and in more than one book, and possibly in other media like their website. This is the norm in book publishing now.

Have Fun,
Jeff
