I normally use Alamy to determine what I should charge for the use of one of my photographs but I couldn't find an appropriate combination for a recent request.

The request was to use the image "on interpretive signage at Taronga Western Plains Zoo".

What would be a ball park figure for such usage?

I think interpretive signage means that they will probably use your photos for renderings of your photos, or put another way, an artists rendition of your photographs. If this is the case, you won't be entitled to the same compensation you would receive if they published or printed out your image. In today's world, I think that $75-$100 per use is about all they're worth. I have sold similar situations, and it seems that that's about all the clients were willing to budget.Good luck!

Thanks, Mark. I replied to the guy a week or so ago saying I was not sure what to charge but said AU$200 and said I was willing to negotiate but I never heard back. Sounds like even $75 would have been too much for him.

Thanks, Jeff.

Using Pacific Stock, Display, Museum/Gallery Exhibit, even the smallest sized image would be around $500.
