It is a real problem....they breed in Central Oregon, but we have such a unique climate that only seeds taken from local plants survive. It is very difficult to find seeds unless you know where the plants were in the summer and go back to find seeds on the dead plants in the winter. Of course our butterflies don't go to Mexico but to the California coast to winter.
