Loggerhead Shrike Brazos Bend State Park, Texas.

Since Fall is near (we try to convince ourselfs of that, down here in Texas) I thought I'd post this. I did clone out a little Loggerhead poop off one of the leaves. :)

Sweet image Alan in gorgeous light. Colour tones are lovely and compliment this little bird well.

A great shot, Alan. The earth tones throughout really put it over the top.

I love the masked marauder of birds and this is a great shot in excellent light on a good perch. It looks like the scan blew out the bright parts on the throat a bit but a really nice shot of this guy!

Alan,

The earth tones really are great. I sympathize with how you Texans feel about Fall, but you should see what Xmas is like in Southern California :D

I like the color scheme and the earth tone as others have already commented. The framing is particularly good ...
Excellent shot, Alan!

Beautiful setting for this bird, Alan, but I agree with EJ, and suspect this scan doesn't do your original justice.

I also agree that your scans don't do your photos justice

Alan,

Great light and the way the light hits the leaves and the bird make them almost 3D.
