One of our most common birds in Lakeland. Them together with the raccoons can take care of all the scraps. Taken while my daughter fed them bread. They're fun to watch as they dive and soar trying to get a piece of bread. Cropped from a horizontal, didn't have time to switch to a vertical.

Excellent sharpness. I love the wing position and the dangling feet. :D

Nice shot, Reinier!
I like the rather unusual pose. Perhaps a little less sharpening would work better as the halo starts to appear around the edges ...

Reinier, Awesome shot here. Some fill flash would put this over the top.

Alan,

I agree with the fill flash, but the sync of the D100 is only 1/180sec. That speed is way to slow to avoid ghosting. I have tried with a manual flash to shoot up to 1/400 sec. provided there's enough light in the background to avoid light knockout. I wish there was a way to sync in this kind of situations.

Reinier, Wonderful capture of a crazy bird!!!

Wonderful landing pose and excellent wing detail, Fill-Flash is not an option in this case, the open bill is the icing on the cake, along with the exposure, congrats!! 8)

Love the wing position and the open mouth. I would agree on the fill flash; it would really make this pop. Alex, I don't see why it wouldn't work in this situation.
