I want to thank members for their helpful suggestions. It has been suggested that I could use a little more USM in many images. I have done so on this image using a series of incremental steps.

Any comments or criticisms are, of course, most welcome.

Cool shot! 8) I like the full detailed wingspread and the lighting. I only he would have looked more your way.

Beautiful shot, Harold. No nits.

Did you selectively sharpen the eye (with the sharpen tool), or did it look like this after USM alone.

No, I didn't sharpen it selectively. I actually sharpened it using the technique I saw on this brilliant website. Whose was it now ........

 O yeah, it was yours!! Thanks very much.

Harold:

Excellent detail and exposure on the underwings, was the sun low in the sky ? Fill Flash ? a humongous reflector such as white sand?? I am jus curious.

It was taken about 10am, about 3 hours after dawn. A fill flash wasn't used but there was heavy snow cover, which can be very effective in reflecting light.

:D :D :D WOW Harold, this is great. Terrific under wing detail that is usually dark when shot against the sky.

Everyone has commented on the wing detail, so I'll just say that I really like this. I am yet to see these in the wild. Thanks for the show.
