This male is all fluffed up for warmth on a cool morning. These hansdome birds are some of my favorite subjects.

I really like the low angle here - really helps the viewer become part of the quail's world.

Thes guys are some of my favorites, too.

Looks like you nailed it all here, Alan. The BG is complimentary and the colors and the detail are outstanding.

Fine shot, Alan. He looks very important all puffed up. Just a slight head turn to the right would make the image even better.

Nice Alan. I saw these for the first time in the Vegas Red Rocks area. Nice background adds depth.

Love that Rufus Beret and plume!!!

Image:

Wonderful bird, my attraction to this bird is almost magnetic, love the whole getup, a very sharp dresser indeed!!, Whites slightly over the edge , just needs his head aligned with the film plane on a side view to be a killer shot!!, Congrats!! 8)

I like this as is, but the whites on the breast may be a tad hot. A small levels adjustment was make this great image even better. Love the slight head turn. This stud obviously thinks he's the cat's meow.
